MEMBERSHIP.

Each year we try to make our PTO the very best it can be. We welcome and encourage you to become an active participant in your student's school experience. Studies show that our children are more successful when parents and guardians are involved in their child's education.

What does it mean to be a member?

That all depends on you. You may be a member in name only or you may choose to become an active member. We invite parents, grandparents, guardians, aunts, uncles, neighbors, siblings, and the like to become a member. The level of involvement is up to you.

Why should I be a participating member?

Participation through volunteering allows you to be more involved with your student's education. Research indicates that when families are involved, a child is more apt to get higher grades, graduate, and even go on to college. Plus, you get to know your student's teachers and friends.

What are the benefits of membership?

The benefits of membership are rewarding. Participation through attendance at PTO meetings gives you a voice. You help decide what we do as a group with the money we raise. You help advocate for student, teacher, staff, and family needs in our school community. Making connections with other families is priceless - as we know, it takes a village to raise our kids. If you are new to ACMS, our families are here to answer questions and ease your transition.

What is the cost of membership?

The cost of membership is $10 per member. This contribution is helpful to our fundraising efforts. For instance, membership dollars may provide funding for:

  • Classroom supplies that a teacher would otherwise have to purchase with money out of their own pocket

  • Supplies need for enrichment programs, including art, drama, robotics, and music

  • Activities that have a positive impact on student enrichment and school culture

  • Transportation for student field trips

  • Events that promote family engagement and strengthen home and school relationships

Isn't the PTO only about fundraising?

Our PTO is about so much more than fundraising. Fundraising is a necessary evil as schools continue to face budget cuts. It is our honor and privilege to be able to fundraise in order provide the necessary funding for supplies, equipment, and activities that our school's budget can no longer cover.

In addition to fundraising, we advocate throughout our community and at the school district level, working to meet the ever-changing and growing needs of our students, teachers, staff, and families. We also serve as a critical connection between our students and families, teachers and staff, and our community.

WE NEED YOUR HELP.

To make this all happen, we need your help!

Our main purpose is to enhance the experience for our students, teachers, staff, and families. We strive to create an atmosphere where teachers and staff can do their best work.

We look forward to seeing all that can be and will be accomplished this school year when we come together as a community to enhance and maximize the education of every child.
